Welcome Coach Johnson!!
A hearty thanks for the incredible job Coach James Salazar did for many years coaching Baseball on the Hill. His efforts were always appreciated by the ex-players and the Booster Club. We were so proud to see him finish on a high note with a 2023 CIF Regional Baseball Championship!
And now after a long search, Skyline HS has hired a very experienced Baseball Coach who comes with an incredible resume and nothing but thumbs up from parents and players alike who know Coach Marcel Johnson.
From his Linked In profile, his biography reads this way:
"As a former minor league baseball player with the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves, Marcel is a highly sought-after hitting and player development coach, known for his compassionate yet firm mentoring approach with young baseball athletes. Marcel's hitting instruction is effective and tailored to be easily understood by aspiring players. He has successfully coached, trained, and mentored numerous baseball players who have progressed to college and professional levels. Marcel is currently serving as the Head Coach for Skyline varsity baseball team.....Also...Marcel has trained two 2nd round draft picks, Jimmy Rollins and Osiris Johnson, and also worked with Tony Tarasco, a former MLB player, with 12 years of experience. "
